Annual pop-culture event, Pokémon Day is here and the Pokémon Company delivered a presentation of upcoming content for the year. It was a low-key announced compared to years past as Pokémon Day 2023 is looking to be more about updated content than actual brand-new titles. Those who were hoping to see Pokémon Game Boy Advance games come to Nintendo’s online service will sadly be disappointed. Instead, there’s a new Pokémon app for sleep tracking, downloadable content (DLC) announced for Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, the return of the classic card game and more.
Here’s what was announced during Pokémon Day 2023’s presentation.
Pokémon Trading Card Game Classic
A new card set of the original ’90s deck comes back in a stylish package. Set to release in 2023.
Pokémon Sleep
Announced years back, the sleep-aid app reappears and set to release in 2023.
Pokémon GO Plus +
A new accessory for Pokémon GO and Pokémon Sleep set to release this summer of 2023.
Pokémon Concierge
This stop-motion animation series will air exclusively on Netflix.
Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet – Paradox Special Raid
The next raid is a special one for Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet players. Depending which version you own (or both), you’ll have the opportunity to capture a Walking Wake (Scarlet) or Iron Leaves (Violet). Both look quite familiar from previous Pokémon games.
The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero for Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet DLC
The latest Pokémon game on the Nintendo Switch will receive a new adventure that comes in two parts. Part 1: Hidden Treasure of Area Zero: The Teal Mask, launching in fall 2023, and Part 2: The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero: The Indigo Disk, releasing at a later date. Pre-ordering the DLC set will give you a special code to capture a special Hisuian Zoroark and new outfits for your trainer avatar. Pre-order details available on the official website.
Between the big announcements listed above, there are a few other reveals mentioned in-between, which can be watched in the full-presentation below. The Legendary Pokémon Zacian will join the fray in Pokémon UNITE game starting February 26 until March 26. Pokémon Home will be available for Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet this year.
