Capcom Spotlight March 2023 Round-Up

From Resident Evil to Mega Man.

Many publishers are taking their time to showcase their titles instead of sharing the spotlight. Capcom’s latest online event, Capcom Spotlight released a number of announcements in its March 2023 edition. To watch (or rewatch) the event, you can do so below.

Here’s the rundown what occurred:

Resident Evil 4

A demo of the latest remake in the Resident Evil series was announced before players pick up the game on March 24th. There’s no limits on how many times players can play the demo. The Chainsaw Demo will be available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, and PC (Steam).  The remake of Resident Evil 4 will come in different editions: Standard Edition ($59.99 USD), Deluxe Edition ($69.99 USD), and Collector’s Edition ($249.99 USD). Bonus items included in these editions. Details available on the game’s official website.

Exoprimal

Set to release on July 14, 2023 for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, and PC (Steam), a beta announced to take place next week. The Open Beta Test will run Thursday, March 16 at 17:00 PDT to Sunday, March 19 at 16:59 PDT on all platforms. Cross-plaftorm features such as matchmaking will be available during the test. Pre-orders for Exoprimal begin today and players will receive three Exosuit skins as a “thank you” gift. There’ll be two editions available for pre-order: Standard Edition ($59.99 USD) and Deluxe Edition ($69.99 USD). A reminder that a Capcom ID is required to play the game. Additional details available on the game’s official website.

Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective

First announced during Nintendo’s latest direct, this hard-to-find Nintendo DS game will release worldwide on June 30, 2023. The game will sell at a retail price of $29.99 for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC (Steam). The game will receive never-before-seen illustrations, newly arranged versions of all 37 tracks from the original game, and one brand new song from the Ace Attorney composer Masakazu Sugimori to celebrate the release. Additional information available on the game’s official website.

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak

The expansion is set to release for the Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Windows, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4 on April 28, 2023. Free Title Update 5 (Ver.15) will arrive in April for the Nintendo Switch and PC (Steam).

Street Fighter 6

Announcing its commentary features, Capcom revealed that popular Japanese actress Hikaru Takahashi joins as the eighth and final in-game commentator at launch. Players can adjust which commentators to use in various languages along with 13 different languages for subtitles. Street Fighter 6 launches June 6, 2023 for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam).

Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection

Suit up! All 499 Patch Cards created originally for Mega Man Battle Network games will be included in the collection. Originally these physical cards were only sold in Japan and had to be scanned into the game. Making this collection sweeter for Mega Man Battle Network fans. Additionally, players can use the new Buster MAX Mode for those who want to focus on the story of Lan and his NetNavi, MegaMan.EXE. This mode will be automatically disabled for online NetBattles. While using it, it’ll multiply the damage of MegaMan.EXE’s normal MegaBuster shot by 100. Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection releases for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC (Steam) on April 14, 2023. Pre-orders available.

Capcom 40th Anniversary

Celebrating 40 years, Capcom is celebrating the year by unveiling a digital theme park called Capcom Town. Fans can explore a digital museum and more when Capcom Town opens on June 12, 2023.
