This Final Fantasy VI Tactics Mod is the Real Deal

Gimme.

Final Fantasy VI, also known as Final Fantasy III in the United States in 1994 for the Super Nintendo (SNES), is one of the most beloved role-playing games. Many fans have and still waited patiently for a remake. In the meantime, a group of modders began their own Final Fantasy VI project, Final Fantasy III Tactics (aka Final Fantasy VI Tactics). Playing off of the content from the Super Nintendo and combined with the art style and gameplay with another popular spin-off RPG, Final Fantasy Tactics, you get a surprising entertaining game.

This special project uses new character skins that represents the pixel versions of Final Fantasy VI‘s characters, altered music from the SNES game to match the aesthetics of Final Fantasy Tactics, reworked maps to match the battlefields from the SNES version, and the original game mechanics from Final Fantasy Tactics, it’s a game both RPGs and Final Fantasy fans are wanting to play for hours. The project is still in development and there are a few videos available on Connor & Chelsea Dunn’s YouTube channel to see how the game works. Here are a couple trailers showcasing their work.
