The 16-bit survival-horror game, Clock Tower, announced to release on consoles and PC early 2024. The classic point-and-click gameplay originally released only in Japan’s Super Famicom (Super Nintendo) in 1995. It’s coming back from the dead and for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox, and PC. The game will retain its 16-bit graphics, gameplay and original soundtrack. The horror game will have additional enhancements such as a new animated opening, motion-comic cutscenes before and after the game, bonus art gallery, border artwork, save states, multiple language options, and more. Additionally, a new vocal theme song performed by Mary McGlynn from the Silent Hill series added to the game.
In Clock Tower, you play as a teenage orphan Jennifer Simpson, trapped in the Barrows family manor while being pursued by Scissorman, a murderous, shears-wielding psychopath. Players will use a point-and-clock interface to explore the mansion for items, secrets and survive against Scissorman’s assaults. There aren’t any offensive weapons for Jennifer to use so you’ll have to use your brain to outsmart the Scissorman and escape with your life. Depending what path you take will unlock one of many multiple endings.
Clock Tower set to release digitally in North America and Europe by WayForward. A physical edition to release afterwards on select platforms by Limited Run Games. A release date for both versions to come at a later date.
