Inti Creates reveals a new Umbraclaw gameplay trailer during Japan’s indie game show, Bitsummit Let’s Go!! and it’s a magical feline adventure. Players take control of Kuon, a house cat on a dangerous journey through the afterlife of Soulplane to return home to his master. While traveling, Kuon as a regular house cat cannot damage enemies but can use the “Shadowstep” ability to pass by enemies in a flash. There’s a catch, using this technique can drain Kuon’s stamina so players take heed when using this ability. However, this ability has more uses. When avoiding boss attacks, Kuon accumulates skill energy. When full, players can unleash a new ability, “Fatal Stomp”, to give massive damage back.

Unfortunately, there’s no way this fragile cat can withstand a single attack. When hit, “Anima Revive” activates to give this house cat another chance with a new skill. For example, the ability to use a tiger’s claw to attack enemies and crow’s wings to allow multiple jumps. When utilizing the Anima Revive repeatedly, it turns Kuon into a humanoid form that’ll help the house cat get out of tough situations and powers up all abilities. The Umbraclaw gameplay trailer showcases these abilities in-action.

Umbraclaw set to release on the Nintendo Switch and PC, a release date window still not revealed. The side-scrolling game available to wishlist on Steam.
