After a stumbling release of Destiny 2: Lightfall, Bungie is looking to make the next expansion a better launch. To do so, the Bungie team made the decision to push back the launch of Destiny 2: The Final Shape to June 4, 2024 for more development time. While it’s unfortunate that the expansion is pushed back but to prevent another unsuccessful launch, Bungie made the right call to do this. It’s too bad it cost a number of employees their job.

With The Final Shape release date pushed back, this gives their new campaign, Season of the Wish, to extend till June. Destiny 2: Into the Light, a two-month content update for all players begins April 2024. Additional details on content and campaigns for the first-half of 2024 can be found on Bungie’s website.
