After countless leaks, speculations, Nintendo finally makes it real. Nintendo reveals the Nintendo Switch 2 in its latest teaser trailer (video below). There’s no announcements regarding specs, games and release date. Just an eye candy video on what the next Nintendo console will look like. However, a Nintendo Direct is scheduled to talk more about the Switch’s successor on April 2, 2025.
Nintendo reconfirmed with their audience that Nintendo Switch games, both digital and physical, will work on the new console. Giving a win to backwards compatibility.
In the trailer, Nintendo showcases the size difference from the Nintendo Switch, giving a bigger screen, bigger controllers and a bigger dock. Additionally, a new footage of Mario Kart was playing to show how the Switch 2 looks when running along being docked. While it’s not official, it does appear a new Mario Kart will finally come out. Mario Kart 8 first released in 2014 for the Wii U and received a port with upgrades to the Switch in 2017.
