First impressions, Neptunia Riders VS Dogoos is another quirky spin-off from the Neptunia series. Players are thrown into a new dimension where it’s run by dogoos, slime-looking creatures that have some characteristics of a teddy bear.
Players will play a stage at a time to complete specific goals such as capturing enough dogoos with your trusty motorcycle. As to how this actually works scientifically, that’s anyone’s guess. The gameplay on capturing these gooey creatures gives a familiar vibe of the Katamari series. Instead of rolling a ball in Katamari, your bike is like a magnet grabbing these creatures. The more you collect, the larger the collection becomes and also slows down your motorcycle. Doing this gives enemies a chance to catch-up to you and attack you, making you lose some of the dogoos you worked so hard to get.
Riding through the stage, you can also attack other enemies who are also collecting dogoos by running into them or throw projectiles for long-distance attacks. It’s almost like playing a battle royal of Mario Kart.
After completing a certain amount of goals, players can upgrade, add accessories or more to their motorcycle or to their character. A nice little extra to give players an award for their hard work.
Neptunia Riders VS Dogoos is an interesting title that breaks away from the series’s end-of-the-world dilemma. Expect a full review shortly on this quirky title.
