Demon Slayer is already slashing records on its opening day. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba The Movie: Infinity Castle makes its biggest debut for anime films, bringing in $33 million on its Friday and preview screenings from 3,315 theater locations. Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero was the king in 2022 with $10.9 million. Here are the now the top five anime films on opening day:

  1. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba The Movie: Infinity Castle – $33 million
  2. Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero – $10.9 million
  3. Pokémon: The First Movie – Mewtwo Strikes Back – $10.1 million
  4. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train – $9.5 million
  5. Jujutsu Kaisen 0 – $8.7 million

Infinity Castle is already outpacing Pokémon: The First Movie – Mewtwo Strikes Back‘s opening weekend that’s at $31 million and on track to beat it’s all-time domestic gross at $85.7 million. Cat with Monocle gave Infinity Castle a 5 out of 5, a film worthy of seeing in theaters. Have you watched the hot anime film yet?
