Silksong Expansion Announced and Hollow Knight Updates

Joyful news to the fans.

It’s a good year for fans of Silksong. Not only was the game released this year but Team Cherry (developers of the popular Silksong and Hollow Knight games) have made a special announcement for the game and for its predecessor. A Silksong expansion announced, titled Hollow Knight: Silksong – Sea of Sorrow. It is slated to release in 2026 for free. The new addition follows Hornet, the protagonist in Silksong but more details about the new addition to come at a later date.

That’s not the only announcement. Team Cherry reveals that Hollow Knight will receive an updated version for the Switch 2. Hollow Knight for the Nintendo Switch 2 will incorporate all updates and enhancements that Silksong received, such as higher resolution, higher frame-rates, and additional graphic effects. If you own the original Switch version, players can download the Nintendo Switch 2 version for free when it launches in 2026. Other platforms will receive the same updates.

If you happen to own the game on Steam and GOG, players can grab the updates now through the public-beta branches, which insludes the 16:10 and 21:9 aspect ratio for those who use Steam Decks or those fancy ultra wide monitors. More information can be found on the Steam Community page.

Those who enjoy physical figures to display on their shelf or desks, Fangamer will be selling mini-figurines of Hornet and others. They will start at $112 USD and pre-orders are open on Fangamer’s official website store (Europe and UK fans can visit this page). More merchandise on Fangamer can be found on their website.
