Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth3 returns players to the wacky humor and colorful cast of characters in this turn-based adventure.

In the third installment, Neptune is accidentally transported to an alternate 1980s themed dimension of Gamindustri. To find her way home, Neptune must challenge the Seven Sages who are looking to destroy all the CPUs (Console Patron Units). During her adventure, Neptune will run into different versions of her friends and enemies from her world. She’ll team up with a shy CPU named Plutia. It’s a different approach to a newer world to explore, yet still familiar to veterans who have played the last two Re;Birth titles.

Like the first installment, Neptune continues to break the fourth wall with her humorous dialogue and heavy on the parodies of the gaming industry. Character designs are more refined, but like its previous installments, the story pacing still has some problems with its long dialogue sequences.

The battle system has been revamped with a more dynamic system that makes combat feel more engaging and quicker, with tactical depth for players to experiment with. However, maxing out character levels will feel very grind-heavy. Menu navigation is simplified, along with an easier management setup for skills and items. The visuals themselves feel more improved when compared to its previous titles.

While exploration is still an existing factor in the series, side quests become quite repetitive, which many RPGs unfortunately tend to do, like grinding for leveling up your characters. It’s not perfect, but it does give it that fun factor, and with a colorful cast and improved gameplay, Re;Birth 3 continues to grow the franchise.
