Pokémon’s 30th anniversary is upon us and Stern Pinball, the largest manufacturer of pinball games in the world, is celebrating the anniversary in a big way. In collaboration with The Pokémon Company International, Stern Pinball has build three Pokémon pinball machines: Pro, Premium, and Limited Edition. Each containing different mechanical parts but operate the same way. The Pro Edition is priced at $6,999 USD, the Premium at $9,699 USD, and the Limited Edition at $12,999 USD.  The Limited Edition has a limit of 750 units. These pinballs are available to order through Stern Pinball’s website. The machines are expected to release later in February and into March.

Seth Davis, President & CEO of Stern Pinball, had the following statement about the latest collaboration:

Today we’re proud to finally deliver the long-awaited Pokémon by Stern Pinball machine. This game is a true celebration of nostalgia, craftsmanship, and the enduring adventure of Pokémon – brought to life in a whole new way through immersive pinball gameplay, thrilling battles and the timeless excitement of catching Pokémon.

Our friends over at NintendoWire went hands-on with the pinball machines and thoroughly enjoyed the experience playing it. The machines are based on the first generation, the Kanto region, along with some nods to the popular anime series. The machines have a mechanic to capture Pokémon and players can expect to catch up to 180 different Pokémon. The machine also has a scanner to scan QR Codes from your mobile device’s Stern Pinball app to save your progress, where you can visit other cabinets in other areas. Very neat.
