Out of the blue, Nintendo makes a game announcement once awhile. Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition announced and available today digitally today on the Nintendo eShop store. A physical version of the game will be available at select retailers, as well as online at the My Nintendo Store beginning April 16th. Those who own the game on the Nintendo Switch can get the upgrade for the Switch 2 version for $4.99 USD on the same Nintendo eShop page.

Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition - Nintendo Switch 2 - Comparison

The upgrade includes the following:

  • Faster frame rate, up to 60fps
  • Enhanced Resolution up to 4K

The upgrade comes at a surprise to some fans but Nintendo has shown they have made prices for these upgrades on a few of their 1st party games, such as their Legend of Zelda games. The recent upgrade for Animal Crossing: New Horizons received same treatment but did come with some extra such as the ability to have 12 players on an island and the usage of the microphone, for $4.99 USD. How does the upgrade make you feel?
