Sigma Star Saga, an original Game Boy Advance game developed by WayForward in 2005, is getting an enhanced version. Under the license of Bandai Namco Entertainment of America, Sigma Star Saga DX release date set to roll out on April 7th. The space shooter, role-playing game (RPG) will come to consoles and PC for the first time since its release nearly 20 years ago. The game will sell at a retail price of $19.99 USD.

This new version will retain the graphics, gameplay, and the audio of the original Game Boy Advance. DX will have adjustments to make the game more satisfying, such as: improved map, decreased random encounter rate, rebalanced EXP system, adjusted auto-fire, additional save points, and assorted bug fixes. New additions including a music player, rewind function, save states, art gallery, and more. Below are the official features provided by WayForward:

  • Top-down RPG-style exploration mixed with action-packed space-shooter battles!
  • Survive as a double agent for the humans and the Krill, and discover the secret of the six planets

  • Customize your ship with more than 70 different Gun Data items yielding 15,000+ combinations
  • Branching story with multiple endings
  • The definitive DX version adds an improved map, decreased random encounter rate, rebalanced EXP system, updated script, various bug fixes, and other enhancements
  • Bonus features: concept-art gallery, music player, border art, and more

Physical collectors will soon be able to purchase a physical version of the game on Limited Run Games. Details on pre-order and release date yet to be determined.
