After watching a demo run of the latest Dragon Ball game at the Summer Game Fest, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 showcases detailed gameplay mechanics to the upcoming game.

The trailer goes into your personal space you can alter like decorating. In missions, you are a part of the Great Saiya Squad where you encounter enemies before facing the mission boss. The user interface showcases more details on the screen from basic combat moves, special attacks, soul switch, and more. On the left is your party’s health gauge. A lot more information on the screen than previous Xenoverse games. In battles, Ki is everything. Use moves that will drain some of your Ki but use them wisely to take down enemies. When an enemy’s Ki is depleted, you can “Break” your opponent to leave them open so you can deliver harder attacks to deplete their health gauge. Players can call out assistant characters from the popular series to deliver an attack.

When your potential gauge is full, activate your soul switch to bring in a Dragon Ball character that’ll swap places with you, giving you the opportunity to fight with their skill set. It’s timed but can deliver some powerful attacks. Additionally, there is the “awakening” where your character can transform. For example, if you are using the Saiyan race, you can transform to a Super Saiyan for a limited time. If your health is depleted, you can still come back to battle when a teammate revives you.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 releases in 2027 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC (Steam). Fans can visit the game’s official website for additional information and wishlist the game on the available platforms.
