Taiko Drum Master, a rhythm game that gives players a chance on what it’s like playing on a taiko drum, a popular instrument in Japan. The game has always made an interesting playlist with scores from various medias from video games and anime shows but hasn’t made it over west since the PlayStation 2 in 2005. Whether the game was too wild for westerns to understand it or perhaps the copyrights from various anime and other video games, we are long overdue for a Taiko Drum Master game.

While we aren’t getting an actual western release date, Bandai Namco Entertainment from Asia has announced that there will be a free English text translation patch for the upcoming Taiko Drum Master: Nintendo Switch Version! on August 9th. The game will release on July 19 in Japan with the Japanese, Chinese, and Korean interface. For those who have been wanting this game will now get a chance to get this imported with the patch come this August.

To make it even more interesting, Taiko Drum Master: Nintendo Switch Version! will have over 70 songs to choose from and some of them are quite interesting. Here’s an example list of some of those tracks:

  • “Jump Up, Super Star! Short Version” – Super Mario Odyssey
  • “Kirby Medley” – Kirby’s Return to Dream Land
  • “Splatoon 2 Medley” – Splatoon 2
  • “Yo-kai Exercise No. 1” – Yo-Kai Watch
  • “CHA-LA HEAD CHA-LA” – Dragon Ball Z
  • “We Are!” – One Piece
  • “A Cruel Angel’s Thesis” – Neon Genesis Evangelion
  • “Sanpo” – My Neighbor Totoro
  • “Aloha” – Pokémon Sun & Moon (anime series)
