DrinkBox Studios has announced the release date for sequel to the 2014 Guacamelee! and it’s around corner. PlayStation 4 and Steam players can get their hands on the game come August 21st. The story returns to Juan Aguacate who is living peaceful after the events of Guacamelee! That time is short lived as a new menace has destroyed Mexico and time and space. Juan once more put on his wrestling outfit and bring the world back to normal.

The original Guacamelee! is available for the Wii U, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC (Steam). No plans yet on both titles will come to the Nintendo Switch but if history tells us anything, expect the game to come to the Switch sometime down the road. We’ve seen it with Iconoclasts.

The game will be more challenging this time along with new moves for Juan. The original game had quite a bit of Nintendo references, such as Metroid series, so it’ll be interested what we’ll find in Guacamelee! 2.
