Nintendo Versus tweeted out a special announcement that there’ll be a Super Smash Bros Ultimate Direct with new information regarding the game and will be delivered by director Masahiro Sakurai himself. The announcement will take place August 8 at 10am ET (7am PT) in North America. Europe will be at 4pm CEST (3pm BST) in Europe. Japan at 11pm JST. Could this be other Nintendo products as well? Last we received a special stream event was back in March and that was when Nintendo revealed the game. As it states in the tweet, it only shows the logo for the highly-anticipated fighting game.

The great news about this is that we don’t have to wait for about a month. While it may seem like a month away for the anticipation on what Nintendo will announce, it’s only a couple days away. As for how long the direct is, nothing has been mentioned, yet. However, there’s potential we’ll could see some character announcement added to the roster, no guarantee though but if we do, it’s going to be at the end of the direct, with an animated clip.
If we had to take a guess on how many, we want to say two judging by the left space on the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate website. This could very well be intentional for designing the website. Could we see new game modes, returning battlefields, or how about more info on Nintendo’s subscription that’s going to go live this fall? Who knows but let the speculating commence!
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate releases December 7, 2018, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
