Little Witch Academia VR Game made its first demo appearance at this year’s Anime Expo. We took a test drive (no pun intended) on the broom racing game. Although the game is in early development, it’s still enjoyable riding through the world of Little Witch Academia.
Just like how the animated movie came to be through crowdfunding in 2013, Little Witch Academia VR is going through Kickstarter to be funded. The campaign will run Wednesday, July 3, 2019 until Saturday, August 17, 2019. The funding cost set at $46,097 USD. Studio TRIGGER, the original studio that animated the movie and series is lending a hand with UNIVRS developing the virtual reality (VR) game.
In regards to those who backed up the project, specific physical items would be shipped June 2020. The game is currently being developed for digital only on its release; no physical edition is planned at this time. In regards to voice actors, the game will use the same voices as the anime.
Little Witch Academia: VR Broom Racing is set to release on the PlayStation VR (PSVR), Oculus Rift, Oculus Quest, and SteamVR when funded. You can visit the official website for additional information and visit the Kickstarter project to help fund it. For a sample of the broom ride you can view the teaser trailer below.
