Pokemon Sword and Shield sells over 6 million units worldwide both digitally and physical. More surprising, 2 million units sold in just two days in the United States. Making Pokemon Sword and Shield the fastest selling Pokemon game in the US.
“With such a momentous launch, Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield have proven to be two of the must-have games this holiday season,” said Nick Chavez, Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
The latest Pokemon game released November 15th and with that, the role-playing series has sold more than 240 million units worldwide since its original launch of Pokemon Red and Blue in 1996.*

With all the backlash and leaks the game has received, there’s no sight of Pokemon slowing down. What’s next for the juggernaut series? Pokemon Armor?
