Hello Games No Man’s Sky continues to receive post game content. Last month introduced cross play, and now another free update (Hello Games named ‘Desolation’) adds procedurally generated derelict ships for the player to explorer. These ships will be full of mystery as to what happened to the crew on board.

Each ship is will be different to traverse, from ships without power, to ships teeming with alien life. Every freighter will have a different story to tell. In addition, the freighters will contain items you can use on your own ship, “reflecting the history of the ship’s you’ve scavenged”.

On top of the added freighters, Desolation contains many small updates as well. Players can expect improved lens flare and bloom lighting, as well as new volumetric light sources. Combat mechanics have been improved as well, with the multi-tool seeing re-balancing, as well as tweaks to sentinels.

Desolation is out now and available to download for PS4, Xbox One, and PC (Steam). All this and more about Desolation can be found at No Man’s Sky official website.
