Square Enix revealed an update coming to Trials of Mana. Version 1.1.0 will receive a couple new modes: No Future and Very Hard. Each difficult mode gives players extra challenges and rewards, such as winning a pair of Rabite Slippers when completing the No Future mode. With these slippers, players can move in field and dungeon areas without encounters. Additional updates being made will help give players a choice to skip cutscenes in class changes and staff rolls. Soon chosing the “New Game Plus” will give players the option to start back at level 1 or continue their previous levels. Below are the official notes that’ll release on the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on October 14th. Steam the following day.
Version 1.1.0 Patch Notes
- Addition of new difficulty level “No Future”
- A difficulty level that is extremely difficult to clear, as enemies, especially bosses, become stronger.
- Can be selected only during “New Game Plus” and the level returns to 1.
- Some abilities cannot be equipped.
- Up to 3 items can be used during battle.
- A time limit will be set for boss battles.
- In some boss battles, the display of the enemy attack range will be shortened.
- High-performance equipment with the same name may come out from the seeds of rainbow-colored items.
- Two link abilities will be added.
- “Holy Sword Guidance”: Unoperated allies will not be incapacitated and will endure with HP 1
- “Holy Sword Guidance II”: Recovers 100% of all allies’ HP when the battle is won
- Addition of other functions
- A new difficulty level “Very Hard”. Can be selected only in “Strong and New Game”.
- Class change production and staff rolls can be skipped.
- Fixed so that costumes that have been changed once can be taken over after a class reset or during a “strong and new game”.
- Only costumes that have changed class after this update are valid, and can be changed after the first class change.
- When “New Game Plus” is selected, you’ll be able to choose whether to return to level 1.
- Add a new statue of the goddess to the map.
- Other bug fixes
