Tetris master, Jonas Neubauer passed away at the age of 39, reported late Friday night on Jonas’s twitter account. Jonas passed away from a sudden medical emergency on Tuesday January 5, 2021.There were a few people who’ve done more good for their esport than Jonas Neubauer. Considered to be the single-greatest Tetris player of all time, Jonas won seven Classic Tetris World Championships since 2010.

A GoFundMe was created to help raise funds to help Jonas’s wife, Heather and with any immediate needs of the family. His last official competitive match, played late November, can be watched below along with an interview with Jonas in 2017.

Not only was Jonas a world champion, but an ambassador and role model who’s positive influence will forever be felt. Rest in peace.
