Electronic Arts (EA) and CLC (the leading collegiate trademark licensing company) announced the return of college football video games after a long hiatus since 2013 of NCAA Football 2013. The franchise closed due to the controversy of the game using student-athlete’s likeness and without permission nor paid. Instead of coming to an agreement, the college football games stop producing. Now with CLC partnership, the college football video game franchise will have the rights to more than 100 institutions, which features logos, stadiums, and uniforms. The college game will not include student-athlete’s names, images and likenesses. Not sure how they’ll pull this off as no agreement made with student-athletes.

Cory Moss, CLC CEO had the following to say about the return of college football video games:

We’re very excited to collaborate with EA SPORTS to bring back the college football franchise, one of the most popular collegiate licensed products in our history. The college football video game connects passionate fans to college brands and introduces new fans to the storied traditions, excitement, and game day experience that make college football unique.

Regards to when the video game returns is still unknown.
