Dragon Ball Z Kakarot first launched in January 2020 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Further down, three sets of DLC released taking place with stories after the events in Dragon Ball Z and another based off of a side-story of popular character, Future Trunks. Today, Nintendo revealed during their E3 presentation that Dragon Ball Z Kakarot for the Nintendo Switch is happening, the official title labeled as: Dragon Ball Z Kakarot + A new Power Awakens Set. This isn’t the first time Bandai Namco released a non-Nintendo game first then release on the Switch year(s) later, take Dragon Ball FighterZ for example.

While the game includes the original and part 1 and 2 of A New Power Awakens DLC, it appears the Switch version will not come automatically with the recent-release of Trunks – The Warrior of Hope DLC. However, purchasing the Deluxe or Ultimate edition will get you the special Trunks – The Warrior of Hope DLC. Otherwise players will have to pay extra for that content. Unfortunately that cool collector’s edition statue won’t be making a return.

Dragon Ball Z Kakarot for the Nintendo Switch releases September 24, 2021.
