After many years of silence, Metroid series is back in a 2D styled game, Metroid Dread. The game takes a new approach with Samus being chased down by E.M.M.I. throughout the game it appears. While the new Metroid Prime game isn’t ready yet, fans won’t have to wait for this Metroid game too long. Metroid Dread releases on the Nintendo Switch on October 8, 2021.
Additionally, a new amiibo set of Samus and E.M.M.I. revealed, launching the same day as Metroid Dread on October 8. Additionally, a limited edition revealed with a steelbook, art cards, and an art book all in one collectible box but the game as a digital code. Not sure what’s the point selling the set if there is no physical game included. However do expect this to sell fast.
Afterwards, Nintendo released two additional videos during its presentation: development history and a 22 minute gameplay footage.
Metroid Dread releases October 8, 2021 on the Nintendo Switch. The Metroid Dread amiibo set releasing also on October 8, 2021.
