New Witcher Game Announced

Will use Unreal Engine 5.

A new Witcher game announced by CD PROJEKT RED, making it a new installment of the Witcher video game series. After how popular The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt became, why not keep the ball rolling? The Witcher 3 won 250 game awards, multiple add-ons, and on every console available, what could players expect in the next installment? First off, the next Witcher game will be moving to Unreal Engine 5. The company was using REDengine to develop previous games such as Cyberpunk 2077.

The game also takes part of the multi-year partnership with Epic Games. Giving resources to the CD PROJEKT RED team to handle licensing, technical development of Unreal Engine 5, and future versions of Unreal Engine 5. Both teams from CD PROJEKT RED and Epic Games to tailor for open-world experience. Additional information to come at a later date.

Regards to when the next Witcher game will release on, at the very least PC for Epic Games and possibly the next-gen consoles, the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. That is, depending how long the game will take to develop and a smoother launch compared to the rocky Cyberpunk 2077.
