Sega releases new details regarding a Nintendo Switch 2 version of Sonic’s latest racing game. Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Nintendo Switch 2 edition announced to release digitally and as a physical format. The digital version set to become available on Thursday, December 4, 2025 at $69.99 USD. Those who own the original Nintendo Switch version can upgrade the game to the Switch 2 version for $10.00 USD. Content and progress able to transfer over via the upgrade. However, if you decide to upgrade between Thursday, December 4, 2025 to Thursday, December 11, 2025, the upgrade cost is set for a limited time at $5.00 USD.
Regarding a physical edition version for the Switch 2, that will release in early 2026 with the full game on the cartridge. It’s a win for every Switch fan and physical collectors.
Regarding the specs for the Nintendo Switch 2 version, Sega revealed the game will run at the following specs:
- Docked mode, single and 2-player split-screen: 2560×1440@60fps
- Docked mode, 4-player split-screen: 2560×1440@30fps
- Handheld mode, single and 2-player split-screen: 1920×1080@60fps
- Handheld mode, 4-player split-screen: 1920×1080@30fps
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Nintendo Switch 2 edition set to launch digitally first on December 4, 2025, physical format in early 2026. Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is available now for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
