The upcoming Oscars are approaching, and the official qualified entries for each category have been revealed. One of the surprises is in the Animated Feature category, with seven Japanese anime films nominated for Oscars. This does not include the popular Netflix Korean animated film, Kpop Demon Hunters or the highly grossed film from China, The Legend of Hei 2.
Here are the seven anime films that qualify for this year’s oscars:
