Update July 1st 9:30pm EST: Capcom reveals an update regarding pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 digital version from the official X account. Official details:

As a result of the release date change, pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 digital version will be automatically canceled. You will need to place a new pre-order on Nintendo eShop. We apologize for any inconvenience caused. Pre-orders for the physical edition, including those placed via e-Capcom, will not be cancelled.

Originally set to release on September 24, 2026, the swordplay action game is now landing weeks earlier. Onimusha: Way of the Sword release date now set to September 4th. The game brought some fun experience based on the demo we played at this year’s Summer Game Fest.

Pre-orders for Onimusha: Way of the Sword is available now for Standard, Deluxe, or Premium Deluxe editions and early adopters will receive a bonus reward. Details on pre-ordering and pre-order bonus is found on the game’s official website. A demo for the action game is available on the PlayStation Store, Xbox Stores, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. Playing the demo will reward players a Kubi Akari charm before the full game’s release.
