UPDATE 7/24/18 at 12:55 am ET: Teaser site went live.

Sega Japan has created a Phantasy Star 30th anniversary teaser page, indicating that a mobile game for iOS and Android will be announced on July 24th. Thirty years of Phantasy Star but we haven’t seen too many recent games come west.

Last few games such as Phantasy Star Online 2 (PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation Vita), Phantasy Star Online 2es (spinoff from Phantasy Star Online 2 for iOS and Android), and Phantasy Star Nova (PlayStation Vita) never came west. The last time we saw a Phantasy Star game here in the west? Go back to 2009’s Phantasy Star Portable (PSP) and in 2008’s Phantasy Star 0 (Nintendo DS).

Perhaps with the next Phantasy Star game being on mobile, maybe we’ll final get a chance to play Phantasy Star, similar to how we now have a Star Ocean game for mobile. We’ll find out during the afternoon on July 24th if we will see the mobile game come west, so we too can celebrate 30 years of Phantasy Star.

What’s your memorable part of the franchise?
