Originally announced in spring 2021, it’s been awfully quiet on the progress of the next mainline title of the popular role-playing game (RPG). During a special event broadcast this morning, Yuji Horii, game designer, and Yosuke Saito, executive producer, announced the update. Dragon Quest XII underwent a restart in the development and the team structure. Yuji and Yosuke revealed development hurdles and decided to restart the game’s process. The game was originally titled Dragon Quest XII: The Flames of Fate is now called Dragon Quest XII: Beyond Dreams. With this new change came a refreshed logo. A video showcasing the announcement and reveal below the article.

Regarding release date window and platforms for Dragon Quest XII will land, that is yet to be confirmed. If we had to at least guess, the game would potentially land on the Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Stay tuned for future updates on the next Dragon Quest adventure!
