The global leader in video game hardware, Hyperkin announces two new colors for SupaBoy to launch this fall: Crimson and Prime. The pocket-sized retro console has been around for 14 years in the United States and will finally ship across Europe for the first time. Additionally, the two new colors will ship simultaneously this year.
Those who are not aware of these handheld hardwares, these devices can play Super Nintendo and Super Famicom games from any region. No emulation or any downloads needed. Plug in your retro cartridge and play right away, giving players the opportunity to relive the days of the classic 16-bit games. Players can also hook up their SupaBoy to a standard TV with the option to plug two controllers into the portable device.
The Hyperkin SupaBoy carries a 4.3″ IPS screen display with built-in rechargeable lithium-ion (li-ion) battery to get up to 10 hours of gaming before charging.
Nathan Perez, Product Developer for Hyperkin had the following to say regarding the new colors and releasing to Europe:
In a time where the existence of physical media is under continued threat, we hear gamers loud and clear: they want to preserve the excitement and collectible nature of game cartridges and the SupaBoy is dedicated to serving the rapidly growing retro audience who want ownership of their software and play without breaks, delays or need for wi-fi. The two new SupaBoycolors respect the iconic color schemes of the original hardware many of us grew up with, and we can’t wait to bring our console to even more gamers through releasing across Europe this Fall.
Hyperkin’s SupaBoy new colors and shipment across the US and Europe regions begins fall 2026.
