During the live broadcast of the The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary event, not only did we receive more information about the upcoming remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time but also special editions.

The main, and most expensive one, is the The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Switch 2 Edition. Much like the Tears of the Kingdom edition for the OLED Nintendo Switch console, this 40th anniversary edition will carry a unique design on the Joy-Con 2 and the back of the Switch 2 console. Knowing we are finally getting a Joy-Con 2 set that is not going to be just another a black matte color with different colored trims is great to see. The back of the Switch 2 utilizes the triforce symbol and a stylish way on the matte black with its gold color theme. The dock itself will also carry some of that triforce design over but not as colorful as the console itself. However, the dock does have clever little details of pixel hearts and more. Check out the product shots below to view more of these details.

The Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller will carry a similar style of the Nintendo Switch 2 console and its Joy-Con 2 set. It’ll also include a special design cradle to hold your luxurious piece of merchandise. There’ll also be a carrying case with the 40th anniversary designs to make it all a nice complete package.
Prices on these are not confirmed but expect it to be a high price now with the price increases, and tariffs involved. Pre-order is not available yet on the Nintendo Store but expect it soon as these items will launch on October 29, 2026.
