Psychological horror simulation game Fractured Blooms is in its early development, but we had the opportunity to test out a short demo at the Summer Game Fest.
More Than Farming

You play as a teenage girl named Angie in a first-person view. At first glance, the game appeared to be a cozy farming simulation, but there’s more to it than just farming. The game goes into unsettling horror experiences that’ll surface as you play. With her memories forgotten, Angie will slowly regain them, but along comes a price. The game will touch a variety of themes such as drama, grief, mental illness, and more.
During our playthrough, the game’s visuals look impressive with realistic landscapes and textures. The lighting looks fantastic, and the colors pop in moments that provide the visuals a surreal quality. While playing the demo, the game follows a linear path for its storytelling. Visiting an abandoned church, I was asked to run errands in the area, such as finding a water canister. The game’s farming simulation will play a role in the game’s story but was not available to explore in the demo.
Making an Impression

Towards the end of the demo, the game started to pick up on its physiological scenes, and the animated effects gave it a pleasing visual touch. The character you’ll interact with is designed well with room for improvement, but being in its early stages of development, you can expect a more polished version when the game comes out.
Speaking with Zhenghua Yang, the founder and CEO of Serenity Forge, I can tell the enthusiasm behind the game, and it’s coming along well based on the short gameplay and additional trailer at the end of the demo run. Hopefully more details and a release date window will arrive later this year, as I’d like to see more gameplay on how much farming and cooking revolve around the story. Fractured Blooms is an intriguing title to watch, and players can now wishlist it on Steam.
Fractured Blooms is scheduled to release for the Xbox Series X/S, and PC in the near future. Fans can visit the game’s official website for more information and purchasing options. The game is available for players to wishlist on Steam and on the Xbox Store. We appreciate Serenity Forge and PM Studios giving us the opportunity to play a sample of the game at the Summer Game Fest.
