Welcome to D-topia, a gentle-paced puzzle adventure indie game. In this game, artificial intelligence curates your livelihood. We had the opportunity to dive into this clean puzzle game at Summer Game Fest, and it’s a worthy title to watch over as it releases on July 14th.
Visually Futuristic

In D-topia, you are a new facilitator, and you will need to solve puzzles to keep the residential facility running. On top of that, you’ll need to resolve problems that go beyond the mechanical side, such as life choices that can alter characters and the city’s future. You’ll meet some fascinating characters, such as those acting superior to you based on society levels.
The journey felt soothing and laid back during our demo run. Logic-based puzzles are fun in various ways. For example, moving lines through a honeycomb labyrinth to reach a goal or moving objects around obstacles. Because of their clean and modern designs, along with bright pastel colors, these puzzles are easier to see and understand.
Similar to the puzzles, both the city and its inhabitants embody a modern and futuristic design. The characters feature anime-inspired visuals and expressions. Its soft lighting and relaxation designs create that cozy atmosphere. While the game is soothing, its slow pace may not appeal to those seeking action. At times, you’ll jump between visual worlds to perform repairs, which provides an intriguing perspective on how the artificial intelligence portrays the “perfect” city through visuals, while behind the scenes, there is a darker, mechanical reality. Let’s not forget you can befriend the local cat.
Making a Choice

Outside your problem-solving job, players can roam in D-topia, where they’ll interact with other civilians. Some will need help fixing a broken robot or answering questions. The game portrays itself as if there really isn’t a “wrong” answer, but it does take you to paths of the game’s story that could help build a bright future of D-topia or uncover mysteries that exist beyond the city walls. Each day you spend, the story unfolds more outside your 9-5 job.
While we didn’t get far in the game’s storytelling, it’s already worth jumping into D-topia further to see where the story will take us depending on our answers. D-topia offers players a unique style of play that its simplistic and pastel-colored designs should not overshadow.
D-topia is set to launch on July 14, 2026 for the Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC (Steam). Fans can visit the game’s official website for more information and purchasing options. We appreciate Annapurna Interactive for giving us the opportunity to operate and problem-solve this game at the Summer Game Fest.
